In 2009 Rick made the big move to Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point); a paradise with great beaches, tropical weather and a future he believed in. He obtained his real estate license and accepted a position with the Sonoran Resorts, which he still believes is the best condominium development on Sandy Beach. Again in his own words Rick “Never looked back.”
In an informal, but well-attended ceremony on Friday July 13, 2012, Fernando Anaya, Director General of Sonoran Resorts and Jim Ringquist, Director of Sales and Marketing and Event Coordinator, presented a check for $5,000 to the very grateful President of DIF (the city’s 36 year old municipal family assistance program), Marcela Albelaiz de Zepeda, accompanied by her husband, Puerto Peñasco Mayor Alejandro Zepeda Munro and Imelda Zamudio Sanchez, Director of DIF. The check represented the funds raised from ticket sales to the very successful Las Vegas Night for Charity sponsored by the Sonoran Resorts and the City of Puerto Peñasco that was held in the Sonoran Sky Resort Condominium Restaurant on Saturday July 7th, 2012
You’ll have many opportunities to marvel at the flying and diving skills of the Brown Pelicans as they hunt and dive along Sandy Beach in front of the Sonoran Sea, Spa, Sky or Sun in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico. Hopefully you will know a little more about them as a result of the information in today’s blog.
Saturday July 7, 2012 was a memorable night of charity for the Sonoran Resorts and City of Peñasco DIF (Family Development Program) and we posted a lot of photos yesterday showing many of the nice folks who participated in the Las Vegas style casino evening and helped raise $5,000 for that well deserving effort. Just […]
Excitement built to a crescendo as seven enthusiastic members of the Sonoran Resorts Sales Group met in the Sonoran Sky restaurant Tuesday evening for a rehearsal and training for their parts in making Saturday night’s casino event the best party of the year in Puerto Peñasco and the best fund raiser of the year for DIF.
Have a Great 4th of July In Puerto Peñasco or Wherever You Are!
On Tuesday June 26th seven local residents met at the Hacienda Restaurant in the Plaza Inn to discuss the re-formation of a Rotary Club in Puerto Peñasco. It was the San Luis Club that sponsored the original Rocky Point Rotary Club back in 1978. It was disbanded about five years ago, but the three tenured San Luis Rotarians with obvious experience is such matters were visibly enthusiastic about assisting the resurrection of a new club.
Luis Garrido of Outta Town Productions fame came to town over the weekend with his new wife, Karen to put together the logistics for their InSANDity! Ultimate Challenge to take place on the beach in front of the Sonoran Spa and Sonoran Sea Resorts on October 6 and 7, 2012. The InSANDity concept is taken from the wildly popular team building obstacle and challenge courses being attended by thousands of Americans every week throughout the U.S. Luis’ concept is unique because the course will be built entirely on the beach and will suitably challenge a family or group of friends of varying degrees of fitness.
After being lured away for two and a half years to Mazatlán, Bobbie recently returned to her beloved Puerto Peñasco and has found her “dream job”, calling Director of Sales and Marketing, Jim Ringquist, “the best manager I have ever worked with.” She’s also quick to add that the quality of the Sonoran Resort Condominiums is “something we are all proud to represent.”
We have a lot of events in Puerto Peñasco, most are colorful and fun. But there are several that seem to project the true culture of this great and historic country and people more than others. This year’s Tequila Fest was one of those. Maybe it was the location, maybe it was the way they laid it out, maybe it was the décor, and most likely it was the traditional folkloric performances by the dancers, singers and musicians that continued through the night showering the attendees, including many ex-patriots with color and sounds of the “real” Mexico we all came here to experience.
