Coming down this week? Please don’t forget about the people who make it so much fun to visit this hospitable resort town. Bring some extra non-perishable food items with you this trip and it will be graciously accepted from you at any Sonoran Resorts Sale Offices including the Sea, Spa, Sun or Sky, or at the Tourist and Visitor Assistance Office downtown on the 2nd floor of the blue Tequila Factory building…
You don’t pass by Restaurant Lolita every day, thinking, “We oughta try that place someday.” That’s because it’s off the “beaten path” on Campeche, the first street past City Hall that shoots off Benito Juarez diagonally to the left taking you to the Mirador area…
Mark and Barb Olszewski pulled their pick up to the front gate of “Elvira Fabiola Ceceña Rubio”, the very first primary school they adopted 10 years ago, the federalized school that motivated them to found their Adopt-a-Classroom Charity Organization. (http://www.rockypointclassroom.com)…
For the second year Sonoran Resorts are encouraging everyone to donate whatever non-perishable foods you can spare or choose to donate to be distributed to the many families in Puerto Peñasco who have been affected by the devastating crash of the tourism-based economy here over the last several years…
What a terrific way to put your memory of a loved one taken by this monstrous disease to a greater good! Join the 7th Annual Rocky Point Cancer Walk this Saturday, October 27th at 4:00PM at the Guadalupe Catholic Church. The walk starts at 5:00PM in order to arrive at the Malecon by sunset.
When the tight-knit Sonoran Resorts sales team decided to throw a surprise birthday party for their lovable multi-tasking sales admin assistant, Laura Valencia, they handled it with the same cool professionalism and warm family style harmony with which they handle their professional relations—cooperation, thoroughness and a dash of colorful Pizzazz!
After an easy motorcycle insurance purchase, a simple border crossing, and a beautiful wide road that meandered through the desert and sand dunes we arrived at our hotel on the beach. The salt air, clear blue water and resort complexes spoke to my husband’s sense of comfort.
Results from the scores of ten judges made after a blind reading of the 26 stories that qualified for the finals are now in and tabulated. The competition was as close as we thought it would be, with only a few points differentiating the second through fifth highest scoring stories. The Grand Prize winner’s story (published below) seemed to capture the hearts of the judges as it was a clear winner!
The contest ended in a flurry at midnight last night (Wednesday October 10, 2012) with several last minute entries arriving before the deadline. In about five days we’ll be announcing the winners of the Sonoran Resorts’ “Best Job in the World” Travel Writing contest, and the competition is going to very close!
The sign says, “If you haven’t been to JJ’s Cantina, you haven’t been to Rocky Point.” That’s about as close as you can get to Truth in Advertising. Folks don’t simply ask you if you’ve been to JJ’s, they ask you if you’ve been to JJ’s yet.
