With the objective of diversifying some of their investments, four local business leaders recently put their heads together, pooled their talents, expertise and resources to develop a unique dining experience in Puerto Peñasco. This year, the Duckies will be racing on Sunday June the 8th, purposely timed for the same weekend of Roger Clyne’s Circus Mexicus Concert so more folks can have a chance to purchase Duckies for the race. Remember that 100% of all the funds collected for Rubber Ducky entries will go toward this year’s goals, which are divided between: 1.) To provide emergency back-up funds for transportation to out of town doctor’s appointments for people in need, and 2.) To provide travel expenses for the kids who qualify for the Paralympics this year.

In the Malecon, just around the corner on Calle Ulloa (the first street encountered after entering the Malecón) is a unique little seashell art emporium called Made in Puerto Peñasco. It occupies a small space at the rear of a compact step-up patio area flanked by the Scooby Shack hot dog and curio stand and next door to Viva México, a local favorite taco eatery.

In fact, you can take in the enticing aroma of coffee beans being roasted to perfection as it wafts throughout the Malecon from the new Puerto Viejo Coffee Roastery located in the old Holanda Ice Cream space, catty corner across from the little white church. But you need not wait for the scent of roasting beans to invite you to visit Puerto Viejo. There is a coffee culture experience awaiting you from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily except Wednesday when they take a day off.
