About 15 years ago a Christmas Angel Tree program was started to help special needs children have a merry Christmas. You’ve seen the Angel Tree concept in U.S. malls where you can take a small angel from a large Christmas tree and each angel has a child’s name, age, clothing and shoe size and you can purchase and wrap a present that will go directly to the child.

Good Samaritan Church of God is a “Picture” of Progress and Dedication

Back in January we published a blog about the abundance of helping hands from the American Community in Rocky Point featuring the selfless efforts of several residents of our community and how they helped the needy in several different charities locally. We wrote about Ron and Carol Okinga who, among other charities they help, were showing up at a small new Church every Saturday to cook a pancake breakfast for the neighborhood kids. Rocky Point’s “Rolling Rockies” Still Actively Raising Funds for the Upcoming Wheel Chair Basketball Season

Rocky Point’s new wheel chair basketball team, Los Rolling Rockies, continued their fundraising activities on Thursday with a “Segunda” (in the U.S. it’s called a yard sale) in front of the DIF Physical Rehab Center here. Mark and Barb Olszewski made available clothes they have collected through their loyal followers on Facebook, Rocky Point Talk, our own Sonoran Resorts web site Blog and monthly newsletter from our Director of Sales, Jim Ringquist, as well as from generous folks around town.
