Beverly is a lively, professional, caring entrepreneurial spirit who loves sales and has found a home selling the Sonoran Resort Condominium projects, “because of their quality, design and management.”
If you were near Sandy Beach on Saturday June 2nd, you couldn’t have missed the veritable crowd of people all decked out in sea blue T-shirts with a row of flowers surrounding the words “Reay 2012”. The “clan” has been coming to Puerto Peñasco for 40 years and holding their family reunions on Sandy Beach for 20 of those years. As the family grew, about six years ago they all—all 47 of them—decided to fix the date of the first weekend in June for the festivity.
On Sunday May 27th, our good friends, Mark and Barb Olszewski of the Adopt-a-Classroom (http://www.rockypointclassroom.com/ ) local Puerto Peñasco charity organization, took 20 generous contributors 27 miles southeast of Puerto Peñasco to Isla San Jorge (known locally as Bird Island) for some snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, bird and sea lion watching.
Where else can you get $300 in chips for one $30 ticket (or $600 in chips for $50 and two tickets) and a chance to compound the value by winning at Black Jack, Roulette, or Texas Hold ‘em? Then, let the fun begin because at the end of this wonderful night of games, food and a cash bar, you’ll be able to bid on dozens of great prizes that have been cheerfully donated by our many generous businesses here in Rocky Point.
Sheri sets herself as an example to others, as well she should. After 8 years with the Sonoran Resorts, the fun, she says, is that most of her sales come from referrals by satisfied owners. During these tough worldwide economic times, her reputation has kept her a consistently high producer. She shares her excitement that the trend seems to be more positive this year with sales above the same period last year.
For five years Laura Valencia, a second generation Puerto Peñasco native, has been the pulse of organization for the Sonoran Sales Group, tending to everything from listing and closing documents to paying bills for owners.
If you are looking for Director of Sales Jim Ringquist at the Sonoran Sea, you just missed him… Jim and his trusty office manager, Laura, have recently relocated to the Sonoran Resorts newest premier property, the Sonoran Sky. They are easy to locate in their new digs just off the lobby through the glass doors behind the reception desk.
If you are a frequent visitor or resident of Puerto Peñasco and haven’t eaten at Tacos Brissa yet, the next time you find yourself at Melchor Ocampo and Sinaloa (down the street from Aká Sí on the corner across from the Oxxo), stop in and try one of Gama Tavarez’menu items for lunch or dinner.
As with any volunteer effort, or any effort for that matter, the effectiveness of reaching goals is directly related to the motivation of those who are willing to take massive, immediate action to get stuff done. Enter Mark and Barb Olszewski who moved to Rocky Point nearly two decades ago from Tempe, Arizona and who are known and appreciated by dozens of charitable organizations and thousands of local citizens—kids and parents alike.
Puerto Penasco Dreaming. Do you ever look up above the sea At the clouds in the sky floating so free Working with the sun as they go by To fling the rays of hope through the sky
