Among many events planned by this forward thinking young organization, is one taking place tonight (Thursday September 12) at Ramon’s Restaurant in the Sonoran Sea in the form of a true Mexican Grand Soirée to raise funds that will go to assist four charitable causes here in Rocky Point: La Casa Hogar Esperanza Para Los Niños; Lion’s Club of Puerto Peñasco; Children’s Foundation; and the AJSonora Foundation for Children…
The fundraising goal for the Rubber Ducky Race in July was to raise enough money to cover the utility bills to keep the La Esperanza Para Nueva Vida Community Center open throughout the sweltering summer months so that scheduled programs could continue without a break in consistency. Just like the first race two years ago, the funds raised at this year’s race…
As often happens with trusted charities like Adopt-a-Classroom, there is a literal league of loyal donors who can be counted on every year to play a major part in helping the organization reach, or, in the case of Barb and Mark, exceed their goals. This year, one of their more consistent over-achievers has gathered more donations than they can carry down in their busy schedule. They are Harold and Kathy Tuttle, who themselves founded “La Esperanza para la Nueva Vida” Community Center…
Nearly 650 Rubber Duckies, over 200 Ducky Sponsors, 30 generous prize donors, nearly 70 big hearted volunteers and one 54’ fishing yacht donated by Captain and owner, Adolfo Perez, all came together on Sunday July 21st and exceeded the goal of raising enough money to take care of the expensive summer utilities of the nonprofit, all volunteer Esperanza Para Vida Nueva Community Center in Puerto Peñasco…

Throughout every year they have acted as the central distribution point, including delivery, to 11 schools in Rocky Point and one in Port Lobos a little over 2 hours drive south, helping provide educational supplies to nearly 10,000 kids…
A group of about 100 generous and dedicated youth from the Utah District of Rotary International Interact and Rotaract Youth Clubs arrived in our little slice of paradise by the sea to build a home for a deserving mother and her three children. And that they did! As it has been for the last four years, this was a joint effort of the American Nonprofit Corporation, Families Helping Families Mexico, Inc, their Mexican Nonprofit, Casas Perpetuales Parker, AC and Rotary International…
It’s just amazing what miracles the women of Puerto Peñasco can produce when they’re on a mission, and how many come together to help. To get them into the miracle-creating mode just mention the needs of children…because “it’s all about the kids…”
Her philosophy is that these kids have been abandoned enough, not to mention the abuse and/or neglect that goes along with dysfunctional familial behavior that leaves children as young as 2 years of age walking the streets in the middle of the night, alone and afraid; some so heavily laden with lice that upon delivery to Infantil de Amores shelter, in many cases it’s necessary to…
Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers are such a stand out rock and roll phenomenon and of near incalculable importance to the economy of our little slice of paradise by the sea, yet they are the first to say that it’s their fans, affectionately known as the Peacemakers, that make it all possible year after year. So in the spirit of one of the most loyal fan bases of any music group, we salute the Peacemaker Fans this year…
