Four and a half years ago, Dolores Vargas had to leave the Sonoran Resorts Sales Group, her condo at the Sonoran Spa and the town she loved so much in order to take on the loving task of caring for her parents who had introduced her to this beach side paradise as a little girl.
When she left for Tucson, Dolores didn’t know when she would return; she just knew she would when she could. Keeping her condominium and maintaining contact with friends, visiting when possible kept her hopes alive until her parents’ health improved to a point where they are fairly independent now days and, in fact, looking forward to visiting Puerto Peñasco again as they’ve done since the early 60’s when they first introduced a young Dolores to the culture of old Mexico.
Dolores was born and raised in Tucson, spending her early adulthood in banking as she served national accounts in the hospitality industry throughout the Southwest. She looked forward to the frequent opportunities to visit Puerto Peñasco with her family throughout her school years and adulthood, even after deciding to leave banking in favor of more adventurous—and risky—entrepreneurial endeavors. Never one to shy from the nebulous future of business ownership, Dolores opened her first restaurant in Tucson in 1981 and called it Dolores’s Carnitas y Salsa, eventually expanding to four locations around the city.
Her visits to Rocky Point continued regularly and frequently until the passion to own a piece of this paradise directed her to buy one of the first condos from the newly available Sonoran Spa Resort Condominiums in 2001. Three years later she determined that the timing was right to sell her restaurants and enter real estate, and she did just that in August of ’04, and made the big decision to relocate to her beloved city by the sea in January of 2005. Dolores’s success in real estate was marked by selling the first million dollar condominium on Sandy Beach in 2006.
When an opportunity opened to join the Sonoran Resorts Sales Group in 2007, as a resident and familiar with the quality of the projects, she jumped on the chance and contributed to the numerous sales records set by the Sonoran sales team until she was called to help her parents two years later.
Now, back with us for less than two weeks, Dolores is already working at the different Sonoran locations even as she is settling into her condo.
“I just couldn’t wait to get back to doing what I love so much—selling these quality condominiums in the most beautiful destination in the world!” She adds enthusiastically, “I am so happy to be back in Rocky Point and look forward to meeting up with friends, and to the joy I get everyday looking at the peaceful Sea of Cortez. I am truly blessed…what a lucky girl!”
